DON'T throw anything away! Often times, people throw things away in the home making the assumption that the item won't sell. The only thing you should get rid of are bank statements, checks, and anything with your name on it.
DO take photographs of all the items that are going to be on sale. Once the estate sale company has organized and displayed the items, take a picture of everything. This way if there is anything in question, you have pictures.
DON'T question the prices the estate sale company set's on your items. The hardest part to remember is that we cannot possibly get close to what you paid for your items. In todays economy, your item will sell for fair market value. We are very familiar with the price that items sell for. Remember that the end goal is to sell the entire contents of the home.
DO help the liquidator out by letting them know about any special items that your selling. It's always helpful if you have a particular piece of art, artifacts, furniture, china, etc..
