You already know that Estate Sales are the best places to find "the best stuff" right? Or are you one of those that drives by never giving a second thought to seeing what's in that estate sale. What if I told you that we get such brands as custom made furniture from Feathers, French Heritage, Christopher Guy, Restoration Hardware, Henkel Harris, Henredon, Drexel, Edra....Yep, all those fabulous lines and more! So maybe now you won't just drive by that Estate Sale sign.
Okay...let me give you some pro tips before your next big hunt. Make sure and stop and the ATM (I still laugh...when my daughter was 3, for show and tell she told all the kids that her mom and dad have a machine that gives them money whenever they want. The teacher told me she proceeded to tell them it was called an ATM Machine which stood for All The Money. Aww the innocence of kids right?). Moving on...make sure to always have cash on hand, because your in for a house-sized sale. While we accept ALL major credit cards, you can "sometimes" haggle for a wee bit of a discount with cash.
Ok let's get started! Here's what to take a second look at and what to pass on...
Furniture. We always sell a ton of our furniture. Both inside and outside. Wrought iron lounge chairs are a huge seller. And, if you know what they go for retail, you'll be happy to know we sell them at a fraction of retail. We tend to get higher-end homes with better brands.
Silverware. The real thing can be pricey when new. When you find whole sets for a fraction of the cost. You can also find less-precious (but super stylish) sets of everyday flatware far less than any department store.
Dishware. Whether it's fine China or a fine piece to eat take-out on, you can fine dish sets at a steal.
Glassware. Some of us have never paid more than $1 for glasses (or barware). You can find vintage pieces or plain old pint glasses
Jewelry. A bonus for the ladies and gents!
Appliances. Although you don't really have a chance to make sure they work properly and no warranty means no guarantee, we've never had a problem yet.
